Pink noise is very similar to White noise, but with the amplitude decreasing with frequency at a constant rate per octave (3db). Most simply put, the lower frequencies are louder than the high frequencies. You will find that white and pink noise sound very similar; but most can notice that the Pink Noise has an emphasized low end. White noise is the more popular and well known of the two.
However, one advantage of Pink noise is the added low frequency content. This makes it sound more like a distant ocean roar, than a gentle rain. This extra low frequency emphasis can be a benefit for those trying to mask low frequency noises. For example: car sub woofers or mechanical industrial noises in your neighborhood or work place. The added low end emphasis of pink noise can provide additional masking power for these types of noises.
If you are considering buying a noise machine, you should seriously consider buying a noise CD, a noise sampler CD, or perhaps a noise download. This will save you money by utilizing your existing resources (your CD player or computer). A nice thing about noise CDs is that they are portable and compact; so it's easy to take them wherever you go, and typically CD players are not too hard to come by. This is great for the frequent traveler. Since most "sound conditioners" and "sleep machines" are hardware based; they are typically bulkier, have low quality speakers, not travel friendly, and normally can not be upgraded to utilize new noises. However, by using noise CDs, one can simply purchase a new title or even simply download and burn a personal CD for instant gratification; usually at a significant savings. You can also easily loop them (repeat function in software or on CD player) to create any duration of noise necessary.
We generate our Analog Pink noise using a classic analog synthesizer circuit through a tube pre-amp where it is converted to a digital stream and recorded directly to digital medium. We then digitally master it to an MP3 file. This way, you get a recording that is as close to the original sound as possible.
We don't use a delay or alter the phase to generate a stereo sound field.
Note: Due to the size of pink noise MP3 files; our Noise downloads are limited to 15 minutes in duration to reduce the download time significantly. Use the auto repeat track function on your MP3 player device/software for longer playback times.

- Once we receive payment, our system will send you a log-in account and password for each download via email (click here for MP3 login page). This information is included in the invoice sent via email for orders paid via credit card (you should receive within 30 minutes of purchase). Please double check your email information at time of order to ensure prompt service. We will promptly follow up during normal business hours.
- Orders paid via PayPal or Google Buy require manual processing during normal business hours (to allow for e-checks and policies unique to PayPal/Google and their payment system/policies). Typically, we can approve most PayPal or Google Buy orders within 8 business hours (10am - 6pm M-F). Note that the logon/pass information is sent in a separate email once the payment is processed. If you need your download immediately please use a credit card for real time service.
- MP3 orders paid via credit card (not via PayPal or Google Buy) are processed in real time. If you do not receive your logon information email within 30 minutes, please check your junk mail folders/settings. If you use a spam mail blocker that requires senders to confirm manually on their web page - note that we can only 'confirm' during normal business hours. To avoid blocked email issues please add sales@luxevivant.com to your safe senders list before ordering (you can always remove later but we do not participate in spam activities).
